30 Hours Free Entitlement
From September 2017 the government has introduced an extra 15 hours free entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds. This entitlement will be added to the existing 15 hours that is currently offered making a total of 30 hours per week term time.
Who Is Eligible?
In a two parent family both parents must work full or part time and in a one parent family the sole parent must work full or part-time. Each parent must earn at least £107.00 per week (£5,574 a year) but less than £100,000 per year.
How will parents know they are eligible?
The Government has introduced the Childcare Choices Website where parents can apply for the 30 hours entitlement. Parents need to fill out an on-line application and if eligible you will be given an 11 digit eligibility code. This code must be given to the nursery and an eligibility form completed.
Parents will be reminded every 3 months to reconfirm details on their application to check they are still eligible.
Parents that are not eligible are still entitled to the universal 15 hours free entitlement.
What now?
If parents want to start taking their 30 hours from September 1st 2017 you need to apply now through the Childcare Choices Website to get an eligibility code before 31st August.
Any parent that applies from 1st September will not be able to use their entitlement until 1st January 2018.
The nursery will be offering this entitlement in the same way we offer the universal 15 hours. We have a three hours limit per session and therefore there will be charge for half an hour of our morning session. If you intend to apply for the 30 hours and increase your childs sessions at nursery please speak to Becky/Harriet about availability and the sessions you require.
